What Pacific Northwest Audiences are Saying

Rave Reviews

The Dr. T Band is a great combination of classic and fun!  They instantly brought energy to the museum, which encouraged the audience to dance and join the excitement.  I without hesitation would book them for another event; Robin is especially wonderful and easy to work with and I heard nothing but positive feedback from guests at the gala.

For Western Oregon University’s Spring Fling, Dr. T and His Orchestra performed for a fundraising benefit for the newly formed Western Oregon Symphony. We provided free dance instruction by two professional dancing instructors and Dr. T did the rest! With cool dance classics that enraptured the audience, the colorful and well-balanced arrangements brought people to their feet. The crowd could not stop raving about the music and the musicians.

“Compliments to all of you. Especially pertinent is the quality of dance music played for us. We enjoyed it tremendously!”

We could not be happier with how wonderful Dr. T Orchestra’s performance at our wedding was. The band was on time, professional and played great music. They kept people on the dance floor all night long. We would definitely recommend them for anyone looking for a swing band in the Portland area.

Lively music, great mix, made you want to get up and dance ‘til it hurts. This band ALWAYS has their ‘A’ Game.

Dr. T and His Orchestra performed for the first annual Fourth of July concert at the Newport Performing Arts Center. The 17 musicians—the crème de la crème on the Northwest jazz scene—launched into each new piece with impeccable ensemble and swinging precision. After the first fast-paced set, the group provided a beautiful back-up to the rich vocals of Robin Malony. Dr. T even took some requests from the audience and amazed us all by obliging without a wink. To close the evening, the band brought the house down with a superbly rhythmic and spectacular rendition of Take the A Train. Dr. T brought his big band magic to Newport and Newport is still talking about it!

Dr. T and His Orchestra played at Portland State University’s summer commencement ceremony for years. The music was upbeat and perfect for this festive, outdoor celebration. The band members were great to work with! They were consummate professionals – always courteous, on time, and flexible.

Dr. T’s Band played at the 41st Infantry Division reunion in Portland.  We were so impressed with their understanding of the audience and the music that would be most appealing to a group of WWII veterans.  We had dancers up and dancing even before the dance music started.  Dr. T’s Band was very easy to work with and I would highly recommend them for any event.”
