Robin Malony
Dr. T Band Leader
Robin Timmons Malony has been with the Dr. T Band for over 35 years as lead vocalist and bass player. In addition to being a professional musician, Robin has served as an educator and music consultant for the Tigard/Tualatin School District. In 2009, she took the helm of the Band following the retirement of George Timmons, original founder of the Dr. T Band. Robin continues the legacy of her father and the tradition of the big band sound.

Jack Quinby
Trombonist
Jack Quinby has performed with Dr. T for over 20 years. In 2009, he became the lead trombonist when George Timmons retired from the band. Northwest audiences know him for his velvet tone, effortless playing, and heartfelt solos. Jack draws from his long-standing experience performing with such luminaries as Bob Hope, Natalie Cole, Robert Goulet, Frankie Valli, the Moody Blues, and the Temptations among others.

Dave Crow
Trumpet
Dave Crow is known to Northwest audiences as a stellar jazz trumpeter. He has performed with some of the most notable Broadway shows in the country, working with luminaries such as Tom Jones, Tony Bennett, Doc Severinsen, Johnny Mathis, Sonny and Cher, Lawrence Welk, and Carol Channing. Reaching across genres, Dave has also performed with the Oregon Symphony Pops under the direction of Norman Leyden. For over 30 years, Dave has lent his virtuosity and leadership to Dr. T.

Ron Leach
Percussion
Ron Leach is all about percussion. Whether he is at the trap set or featuring scores of percussion instruments, he adds color and style to any genre, including jazz, pop, Latin, and rock. His mastery of swing is effortless, bringing dancers to their feet. Ron is recognized throughout the Northwest for his exquisite Latin rhythms. The time he spent in Cuba paid off!

Mike Mathew
Pianist
Mike Mathew is a classically trained pianist and has melded his traditional roots with a lifelong career as a jazz artist. His attention to dynamics, creative improvisation, and his musical talent has been a centerpiece to Dr. T for over 30 years. Mike writes some of our stunning arrangements. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in performance from the University of Oregon. He has performed with the University of Oregon jazz band at the U of Cal. at Berkley Collegiate Jazz Festival, at Disneyland, and placed first in the Southwest Music Festival in Long Beach, California.

Tyler Smith
Bass Player
Tyler Smith has been a member of the band since 2005. A native Portlander, his virtuosity crosses all genres. From jazz to country, to gems of the big band era, Tyler is at home with all styles of popular music.

Leroy Critcher
Guitarist
In the hands of Leroy Critcher, the solo guitar produces a broad dynamic range of expression and color. Familiar pop favorites, classical melodies, jazz standards as well as Broadway show tunes and ethnic selections create a warm and stylish atmosphere for any event. Leroy’s credits include studies at the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston and University of Nebraska. He has toured nationally as a music director and as a composer, he has written for the film industry and public television. Leroy brings to Dr. T both virtuosity and style.

Jim Miller
Trombone
Jim Miller is a native Portlander. He has been part of the Dr. T Band for over 25 years. Well-known to local audiences, he is a virtuoso performer on both tenor and bass trombones. Whether it’s with jazz gems or big band favorites, Jim’s passion for music shines through.

Michael Bard
Alto Sax
Michael Bard has appeared throughout the US and Canada as a touring artist, including the Monterey Jazz Festival and as Stan Kenton’s lead saxophonist from 1977-78. Michael is new to Dr. T. In addition to his work as a nationally recognized performing artist, he has his own full service audio post-production company in Portland.

Mark Davey
Tenor Sax/Clarinet
Mark Davey is a nationally recognized as both a performing and recording artist. He has worked with such artists and ensembles as the Temptations, Manhattan Transfer, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Bill Withers, Nu Shooz, Body & Soul, Linda Hornbuckle, Portland Saxophone Quartet, Arturo Sandoval, and others. Mark’s superb style enhances the full sound of Dr. T’s big band.
